A total of 41 copper-engraved fold-out plates -- Vol. I (9), Vol. II (4), Vol. III (15), Vol. IV (13). Rowning, Rector of Anderby, Lincolnshire, and a Fellow of Magdelene College, Cambridge, developed the first mechanical device for solving polynomial equations.
