Original Drawing, "P.109 Chapter XI"

Np: Np, Nd. Monographs. Drawing image, 24 x 16.5 cm, matted and framed dimensions, 40 x 33.5. The pencil drawing depicts a bareheaded man dressed in a hooded robe with his hands chained to a post. In the background appear two reclining figures, roughly sketched. Below the chained figure is an outline sketch of a figure lying in bed with others around the bed, heads bowed as in contemplation or mourning. The Rockwell Seal appears in the lower right corner of the drawing. No similar image in any of Kent's books or in the Dan Burne Jones bibliography. This apparently a rejected sketch presented to a publisher. Fine. Item #20006
