Np: Np, Np. Letter 23 x 14 cm. [Stanford White} to {Marie] Anais [Casey], believed to have been romantically involved with by his biographer, Aline B. Saarinen. White's handwritten letter in ink reads, "My dear dear Anais what do you mean? You know my services are always at your disposal but in such a case as this I should feel very badly indeed if you did not consider what I have done for you as a labor of love & I am sure that at least in this case you can & will so accept it. To have pleased you - is all the reason I care or wish for. ever yours Stanford White. The Saarinen typed ALS dated November 2, 1959 to Ruth Watkins (Casey's daughter) seeks additional background information on her mother's affair with White, noting her mother was quite young when she met White, and the reticence of women in that era to discuss personal matters.
