Limited edition, copy 25 of 75 on Japan imperial paper, approx. 90 plates in three states, the two supplementary sets of plates are engraved "sur papier Whatman," all are tinted, all with lettered tissue guards. Nattier's graceful and charming portraits of court ladies in this mode were very fashionable, partly because he could beautify a sitter while also retaining her likeness.
