Harrison studied at the Glasgow School of Art in the late 1880's where Charles Renne Mackintosh and others developed the Glasgow Style reflected here in English Art Nouveau and Pre-Raphaelite illustration, and carried through in her career illustrating poetry and children's books. Christina Rossetti considered an important women's poet of 19th century England, she also gained fame as a model for Pre-Raphaelite painters, including her brother, Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
