These fine plates are from Eckert's larger series of German federal armies. The sheet count and price of this separate volume written in ink on the publisher's portfolio cover: 498 Blatt (i.e.leaves, including the title and 47 plates.) COLAS 935. Boards rubbed, light toning and finger soiling, but with bright colors and gum arabic; each plate with artist's blindstamp at lower margin. Publisher's black morocco backed pictorial printed boards.
