The new book 'Delle fortificationi libro sesto, dove si tratta della difesa delle fortezze' deals principally with sieges, addressing practical problems, like how to repair breached walls, make temporary or portable defences, make the artillery mobile and protect the artillerist, all of which was based on the author's experience in the field. This edition also contains 18 new chapters to the earlier books, with 27 new woodcuts.
