An elegant printer's sample book incorporating embossed printing as well as full color gold and silver examples. The labels present the spirit of the 19th century with a cross section of the advertiser and printer art of the period. Trade catalogues at WINTERTHUR No. 1618 describes a copy with 89 color plates. One plate has a woman smoking a cigar. The last few leaves have multiple images. Raised bands, covers decorated in blind. Modern full brown calf in Cambridge style binding. All edges red. Fine.
