Contains biographies of notable women throughout history, plus sonnets, elegies, and moral reflections and questions: "Whether Women be capable of Government" and "Why Conjugal Love is more Faithfull in Women, then in Men." Translated by John Paulet, the Fifth Marquis of Winchester [1598-1675]. The latter known as the "great loyalist" for his imprisonment in the Tower by Cromwell. Title page printed in red and black.
