Front cover pastedown contains the latter full name in gilt with note at bottom in gilt, "The Binding Of This Volume An Appreciation From J. Scudney." Apparently Wing had this book bound. Raised bands, inner dentelles, covers and spine elegantly bound with gilt arabesques both front covers and spine. Portland's John Neal (1793-1876) epitomized the spirit of 19th century Maine.
